What is Jagua?

Juice from the Jagua fruit (Genipa americana) has been used for body adornment for millennia. The Amazonian fruit produces a non-permanent, dark bluish-black stain that lasts until the skin fully exfoliates (approximately 1-2 weeks). A great complement to henna for Mehndi designs, Jagua is also perfect for test driving tattoo ideas, fooling friends and embellishing existing tattoos. Safe and non-toxic, & 100% natural. PLEASE NOTE: Jagua is not suitable for those with allergies to pineapple or strawberries.

What is Henna?

Henna is a pure, natural colorant crafted from the dried leaves of the Lawsonia inermis shrub. When applied to the skin, it creates a rich, earthy orange-brown stain that develops into a deep, beautiful hue over time.

For thousands of years, henna (known as mehndi) has been cherished across cultures for adorning the skin with intricate, meaningful designs. It’s especially iconic in Indian bridal traditions, where elaborate mehndi ceremonies celebrate the bride-to-be with stunning patterns that symbolize joy, beauty, and good fortune on her wedding day.

Beyond skin, henna has long been used to color hair, nails, silk, wool, and leather. Because it’s 100% plant-based, it bonds beautifully with the proteins in your skin for a temporary tattoo that lasts 1–3 weeks.

Pro tip for the best results: Allow a full 8 hours of drying time after application for the deepest, longest-lasting color. The longer you leave it on, the richer the final stain becomes.
