Studio FAQ
What is the private studio like? Our studio is a relaxed home-like environment. The studio space is located inside a professional office plaza in North Asheville, easy to access directly on Merrimon Avenue. There is free parking available in front of the building and an overflow lot behind the building. The studio has a waiting/lounge area with hot tea, coffee, snacks and fresh spring water available. There is a private bathroom; and sessions are held in a private joining room.
Can I wear headphones for my tattoo session? You are welcome to do as you please with your attention. Headphones are welcome, as is conversation, let us know if you would like us to play your music playlists on the speaker.
What can I expect the day of my session? The artist is ready for you at your scheduled session time, so please be right on time. Beginning of the session includes discussion of the design, washing, shaving and preparation of the area, application of stencil or free-hand drawing, and adjustments to ensure the design will fit and flatters your body. Once the stencil mapping is laid out, we will begin the tattoo.
Will we have any breaks? Yes, breaks are worked in. Full day sessions we will take a lunch break around the mid-way point, and intermittent breaks throughout all sessions are 100% available for yours and the artists’ needs.
What should I bring? You are invited to bring any snacks, non-alcoholic drinks of your choice and any other items of comfort to help you feel at home. Warm blankets, pillows, and bolsters are provided to support your body so that you can feel as relaxed as possible.
Can I bring someone with me to my session? No - minimizing distractions enables the artist to perform optimally, therefore it is requested that you come prepared to experience your tattoo session by yourself. The exception to this is when more than one person will be getting tattooed as part of a special or tandem session. Visitors are welcome to pop-in for short visits at the beginning and end, drop off food or goodies, or join for the lunch break with full-day sessions.
Do you give previews of the design? No - it is not feasible to provide design previews until the day of your session, this is why we have a consultation. Changes to the design can aways be made at the beginning of your session.
Do you offer Touch Ups? Yes, your deposit payment applies towards a 1/2 hour touch up session; which must be scheduled within 3 months after your tattoo has healed and settled completely.
Cover-ups/reworks, hand/finger/knuckle Touch Ups: these types of tattoos will be touched up at the artists’ discretion and by the regular studio rate as they will likely have unpredictable healing results. We do the best we can, and your understanding of what our services are limited to are important.
